The Chinese automotive giant BYD's factory site, which is planned to be established in Manisa and is set to become operational by the end of 2026 with a capacity of 150,000 vehicles, has not seen a single shovel hit the ground. Currently, only two electrical transformers are visible on the vast factory site.

The silence continues at the construction site of the electric and hybrid vehicle production facility planned to be established in Manisa as part of BYD's $1 billion investment in Turkey.
NOT A SINGLE PICKAX HAS BEEN STRUCK SINCE JUNE
At the facility, which is aimed to be operational by the end of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles in the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, trucks and construction machinery were actively working for infrastructure works in February, but the work stopped again in June.
THERE ARE ONLY 2 TRANSFORMERS
Despite the 3-month period that has passed, no movement of construction machinery or physical progress has been observed in the area. It was noted that currently, there are only two electrical transformers in the vast factory area.
"PRODUCTION WILL START IN 2026"
On the other hand, BYD Vice President Stella Li, who made statements at the Munich Auto Show at the beginning of September, announced that construction of the factory would begin as soon as possible and that production in Turkey would start in 2026. It was stated that in the first phase of the investment, battery pack assembly is planned to be done in Turkey, and a team consisting of different units is working in Manisa for this purpose.
