Footage emerged showing former police officer Cemil Koç, who killed Ayşe Tokyaz in Küçükçekmece and carried her body in a suitcase, beating his ex-girlfriend Ejegul Ovezova, a Turkmenistan national who died after falling from the 8th floor, with her hands and feet tied.

Images have emerged of former police officer Cemil Koç, who killed Ayşe Tokyaz in İstanbul Küçükçekmece and transported her body in a suitcase, assaulting his ex-girlfriend Ejegul Ovezova, a Turkmen national, in the past.

TIED HER HANDS AND FEET AND BEAT HER

Footage showed Koç tying the hands and feet of his ex-girlfriend Ejegul Ovezova, a Turkmen national who died suspiciously after falling from the 8th floor of a building where he previously lived, and beating her. In the images shared by journalist Emrullah Erdinç, the suspect was clearly seen tying up the young woman, beating her, and dragging her.

While the investigation into Ovezova’s suspicious death continues, these new findings are expected to change the course of the extensive murder investigation conducted by judicial authorities.

THE SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF EJEGUL OVEZOVA

The investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the death of Ejegul Ovezova, who fell from the living room window of her 8th-floor apartment in the Bağcılar neighborhood of the Bağlar district on July 24, 2023, has been completed. An indictment was prepared against former police officer Cemil Koç, with whom Ovezova lived in Diyarbakır, and accepted by the Diyarbakır 6th Heavy Penal Court.

A warrant for the suspect's arrest on charges of premeditated murder was issued. Koç, who was arrested in connection with the discovery of the body of 22-year-old university student Ayşe Tokyaz in a suitcase by the roadside on July 13, gave a statement to the Diyarbakır 6th Heavy Penal Court via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS) from prison.

The court decided to arrest Koç on charges of 'intentional killing' after his defense against the accusations.

It was determined that Cemil Koç was dismissed from the police force in 2024 for possessing an unlicensed firearm and has a criminal record for offenses including 'resisting to prevent duty,' 'threat,' 'insult,' 'intentional injury,' and 'purchasing, possessing, or using drugs or stimulants.'

The indictment prepared by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against 9 suspects in connection with the murder of university student Ayşe Tokyaz has been accepted by the Küçükçekmece 2nd Heavy Penal Court, and the trial hearing has been scheduled for December 29.
