As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate every hour, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clearly stated its position in the war that is shaking Asia. The ministry condemned India's attacks on Pakistan and expressed its solidarity with the people of Pakistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan condemned India's attacks on Pakistan, stating that they stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan.
"WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE ESCALATION OF TENSIONS"
In a statement from the ministry, it was noted that there are concerns about the further escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan. The statement included, "We condemn the military attacks against Pakistan that have led to the death and injury of civilians. We declare our solidarity with the people of Pakistan, express our condolences to the families of innocent victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We call on all parties to act with restraint and to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means."
WHAT HAPPENED?
India carried out missile strikes on May 6 against Pakistani territory and the Azad Kashmir region controlled by Pakistan, citing retaliation for a terrorist attack on April 22 in the Pahalgam area that killed 26 people.
The Indian army announced that it hit 9 targets, which it described as "terrorist organizations," while the Islamabad administration reported that 6 civilian locations were targeted in the attacks, resulting in the deaths of 26 people. The Pakistan army stated that 5 fighter jets were shot down during the Indian attack, while the New Delhi administration did not confirm this.
