The election projects of Aziz Yıldırım, who announced his candidacy for president at Fenerbahçe, have begun to take shape. It has been reported that Yıldırım is preparing a major project to increase the stadium capacity.
TARGET 65 THOUSAND CAPACITY
According to the prepared project, if Aziz Yıldırım is elected president, the current stadium capacity will be increased to 65,000. The yellow-navy blue club's stadium expansion project has come to the agenda again.
PROJECT WAS PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED
Aziz Yıldırım had shared the project to increase the stadium capacity with the public during the general assembly in 2024. Nihat Özbağı, who was on the board list at the time, also provided details about the project.
NIHAT ÖZDEMIR WILL PROVIDE SUPPORT
It was stated that businessperson Nihat Özdemir, a former manager of Fenerbahçe, will support the project. The stadium expansion effort was noted to hold an important place in the club's long-term revenue planning.
WILL WORK WITH CAMP NOU TEAM
The news reported that it is planned to work with engineering teams that previously worked on the Camp Nou project. It was stated that support from the same technical teams will be sought to expand Chobani Stadium in its current location.
