37-year-old physical education teacher Şafak Çelik, who suffered significant financial losses due to online gambling addiction in Çankırı, took his own life after sharing a farewell video. Following the incident, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan reacted by showing Çelik's video from the podium of the Parliament, asking the government, "How can you remain silent, how can you stay quiet?"
A 37-year-old physical education teacher, Şafak Çelik, who was dragged into the virtual gambling swamp in Çankırı, ended his life after suffering significant losses.
SHARED A VIDEO BEFORE SUICIDE
Çelik, who shared a farewell video on his social media account, expressed that he lost many houses belonging to his family and a large amount of money to gambling, and that he could not escape from the despair he fell into.

While the echoes of the incident continued, the leader of the DEVA Party, Ali Babacan, shared the video of the citizen who committed suicide due to online betting from the podium of the Parliament, calling out to the government.
"HOW CAN YOU REMAIN SILENT, HOW CAN YOU BE QUIET?"
Starting his speech by saying, "Do you have no conscience at all?" Babacan stated, "This citizen in the video is no longer alive. Because, after recording this video, he took his own life. Isn't it a shame? Many lives are being lost. Many homes are being extinguished. We are tired of this greed; is everything about money? It is unbelievable that the government remains indifferent to this issue. Those in power! I am addressing you! Do you have no conscience left? How can you remain silent, how can you be quiet? Even if everyone is silent, we will not be silent. Even if everyone gets used to it, we will not get used to it. We will not accept this decay."
