Samsunspor's spokesperson Suat Çakır announced that the transfer of Raheem Sterling, who left Chelsea, has ended unfavorably. Providing information about the transfer process, Çakır announced that the team will add 4 new names to the UEFA list and stated that preparations for the derby match against Trabzonspor are ongoing.
Samsunspor Spokesperson Suat Çakır stated that despite reaching an important stage for the transfer of world-renowned winger Raheem Sterling, who left Chelsea, it ended negatively.
Samsunspor Spokesperson Çakır evaluated the current situation of the team at a press conference held at the Nuri Asan Facilities. Providing information about transfer activities, Suat Çakır said, "Elayis Tavsan has obtained Turkish status. I thank our Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya for his support. Thus, we have gained one foreign quota right. Currently, work is being done regarding that. Necessary reinforcement will be made in line with our coach's request," he said.
"TRANSFER ENDED NEGATIVELY"
Sharing the latest status regarding the Raheem Sterling transfer, which has also resonated on the international stage, Suat Çakır said, "Progress was made regarding the Raheem Sterling transfer. However, the transfer was disrupted later due to the player's unwillingness to come to Turkey while moving towards an agreement. Our president Yüksel Yıldırım was making sacrifices regarding this. But unfortunately, it didn't happen. There is 1 day left until the end of the transfer season, and we are trying to make reinforcements in the areas our coach wants," he stated.
Çakır mentioned that they will add 4 new names to the squad for the UEFA Conference League, saying, "We will add İrfan Can Eribayat, Cherif Ndiaye, and Jaures Assoumou to the UEFA list. We will also add Enes Albak from the youth status. I hope they will contribute to us in the Conference League. Additionally, our injured players Emre Kılınç and Afonso Sousa have started running. Hopefully, they will join the team training as soon as possible. Tanguy Coulibaly is also working in the gym. By the beginning of March, all our players will be ready," he said.
"TRABZONSPOR IS OUR FRIEND"
Çakır also stated that they will face Trabzonspor on February 7, Saturday, in the 21st week of the Super League, saying, "We will face Trabzonspor in the Black Sea derby. Of course, it is an important match for us. For everyone, for our fans. Trabzonspor is our friend and eternal rival. The preparations for this match are going very well. Hopefully, just as we defeated Trabzonspor here last year, we aim to continue our goal of being in the top 5 by winning this week," he expressed.
