An earthquake of magnitude 4 occurred in Sındırgı at 18:07. AFAD reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.52 kilometers. Seconds later, Sındırgı was shaken again by an earthquake of magnitude 3.6. This earthquake also occurred at a depth of 7.23 kilometers.
1 FATALITY IN THE 6.1 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE
In the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir, during the earthquake of magnitude 6.1 that occurred on August 10, a four-story building across from the District Governor's Office collapsed. Two people managed to escape from the rubble on their own, while four others were rescued by search and rescue teams. Among those rescued, 81-year-old Nihat Önbaş passed away in the hospital where he was taken by health officials.
