Some banks have announced that they will charge maintenance fees of up to 790 lira per year for stock accounts. Following the decision, investors have started to close their accounts.

Before entering 2025, three major banks made a highly discussed decision. Garanti Yatırım, Yapı Kredi Yatırım, and Halk Yatırım announced that they will charge a "Account Maintenance Fee" from stock accounts. It was stated that deductions from the accounts will be made every 6 months.
