The banners conveyed messages of brotherhood, with the phrase "Brotherhood in Our Hearts, Future in Our Minds" drawing attention. Citizens who saw the banners emphasized that the effort was a positive step for the peace process.
"THIS IS A DEMOCRATIC PROVINCE"
Ümit Toprak, a tradesman in Diyarbakır, expressed his approval of the banner. Toprak said, "It is very good, successful, and nice for brotherhood, peace, and tranquility. It would be better for the process to be carried out in peace and brotherhood. It would benefit society more. Economically, everywhere would develop. This is a democratic province; no one should be afraid of Diyarbakır; they can come and travel freely."
"IT IS NOT AS THEY TOLD US"
Hasan İğnepli, who came from the Fethiye district of Muğla, emphasized that every part of Turkey is beautiful. İğnepli said, "These are places to visit and see. It is not as they told us. We are all Muslims; there is no racism. Whether Turkish or Kurdish, everyone is brothers. A person who goes abroad without visiting Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Mardin either has no mind or has too much money. We are brothers; there is even a verse about this. I was not surprised by this banner; these are things that should be everywhere in Turkey. These are our needs. It is nice that everyone is respected."
