Imad Almograbi, who killed his cousin Doğan Duman in Antalya by firing two magazines of bullets from a pistol, expressed remorse in court, claiming he was threatened by his family. The court decided to analyze the footage and maintain his detention.
Imad Almograbi (45), who killed his cousin Dogan Duman (52) by shooting him with two magazines of bullets in Antalya after an argument, stated in his defense in court that he was threatened with his family and children, saying, 'I wish I had died instead of him. I am very sorry.'
The incident occurred on November 25, 2025, at around 16:30 in the cafe of an apart hotel on 2383 Street, Guzeloba District, Muratpasa. The cousins, Israeli citizens Imad Almograbi and Dogan Duman, met at the cafe to discuss their feud. After a while, an argument broke out between Almograbi and Duman, followed by a fight. As panicked customers tried to move away, Imad Almograbi shot his cousin with the pistol he had brought. After emptying the first magazine, Almograbi ran to his car, grabbed a second magazine, and continued shooting at Dogan Duman in front of the cafe. Duman, hit by numerous bullets, died.
CAPTURED 10 KILOMETERS AWAY
After the incident, Imad Almograbi and another unidentified person who fled by car were caught 10 kilometers away by teams from the Antalya Police Department's Public Order Branch, Homicide Bureau. Almograbi, taken into custody, was arrested by the court after being referred to the courthouse following police procedures.

Meanwhile, the incident was captured on security camera. The footage shows Dogan Duman falling to the ground after his cousin Imad Almograbi shoulders him, and then Almograbi shooting Duman with the pistol until the magazine is empty.
DEFENDANT BEFORE THE JUDGE
Imad Almograbi, arrested on charges of 'intentional murder,' appeared before the judge for the second time at the Antalya 1st Heavy Penal Court. Claiming he does not remember the incident, Imad Almograbi stated that Dogan Duman insulted and threatened him, saying, 'Dogan cursed me a lot, threatened me with my family. He threatened to dig up my mother from her grave and do bad things, to sell my wife and daughters. We are all family; he is my uncle's son. My gun was tucked in my waist. I wish I had died instead of him. I have 6 children, and I am very sad for both my own children and his children. My whole life has changed. I came from Palestine to Turkey for the safety of my children. I have been in custody for 7 months; I can't even believe what happened to me. I am very sorry.'
The court panel, noting that the argument sounds were recorded in the footage viewed during the hearing, decided to have the footage analyzed and to continue the defendant's detention, postponing the hearing.
