The Commander of the Uganda People's Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, stepped back after facing backlash over social media posts containing threatening statements towards Turkey. Kainerugaba, whose comments targeting diplomatic relations and scandalous remarks caused a significant uproar, was forced to delete the posts in response to public pressure.

CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS

Kainerugaba, who is the Commander of the Uganda Defense Forces and also the son of President Yoweri Museveni, targeted Turkey in his posts. 

Kainerugaba threatened to sever diplomatic relations with Turkey, demanded at least 1 billion dollars from Turkey, and stated that he wanted the most beautiful woman in the country as his wife. Kainerugaba said, "The real problem is Turkey! We waited for them to get their act together, but it was in vain. If they do not resolve our issues, we will cut all diplomatic relations with Turkey within the next 30 days. We will also block the airlines."

 BACKLASH ON SOCIAL MEDIA

As the posts spread quickly, many users on social media reacted to Kainerugaba. The expressions used, in particular, caused great discomfort in the public.

Following the increasing backlash, Kainerugaba stepped back by removing the controversial posts from his account.
