During the visit, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Abdülhamit Gül, Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, former Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, former Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoğlu, and former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez were also present. Bilal Erdoğan, along with his delegation, visited the tomb of Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi and the Turkish martyrs' memorials.

According to the Syrian press, the Turkish delegation and Bilal Erdoğan came to the Umayyad Mosque in Old Damascus to perform the Friday prayer with Syria's new leader Ahmed Shara.
Upon the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Syrian President Ahmed Shara, who took over the administration by overthrowing Bashar al-Assad, made his first official visit to the capital Ankara on February 4. Many officials from the state, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and MIT President İbrahim Kalın, have also had contacts with Syria's new administration, and Fidan and Kalın prayed at the Umayyad Mosque.
