Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci announced that he will remain in his party regarding the resignations in CHP. Özgür Özel, while praising Mandalinci at the Candidate Introduction Meeting held in Manisa in 2024, had forgotten both his first and last name, calling him "Hakan Mandalinacı."

Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci, in a statement regarding the resignations within CHP, said, "In this process, I find it appropriate to remain in my party, continue my struggle, and serve our citizens under the umbrella of the Republican People's Party."

Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalinci from CHP came together with journalists working in the district as part of July 24 Press Freedom Day.

During the press meeting, Mandalinci highlighted the importance of July 24 for press freedom and conveyed his best wishes to all journalists facing pressure and difficulties in their duties. Commemorating journalists who lost their lives for press freedom, Mandalinci stated that he respectfully remembers all press workers who contributed to the profession, especially Abdi İpekçi and Uğur Mumcu.

ANNOUNCES "CHP" DECISION

After the meeting, Mandalinci, evaluating the recent resignations in his party, stated that he would not resign from CHP and is closely following the process.

Reminding that he started his duty as mayor after being nominated during Özgür Özel's term, Mandalinci said, "As a mayor elected from the Republican People's Party, I was elected with the votes of citizens devoted to the Republican People's Party. In this process, I find it appropriate to remain in my party, continue my struggle, and serve our citizens under the umbrella of the Republican People's Party."

"I THINK IT'S TOO EARLY"

Mandalinci stated that they have not yet made any assessment regarding party changes with municipal council members, saying, "I think it's far too early for that. Politics in Turkey is changing very rapidly."

Regarding whether he has received any pressure or suggestion to change parties, Mandalinci noted that he has not received such guidance from any political leader and that he makes decisions based on his own will and considering the views of citizens.

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL HAD INTRODUCED HIM LIKE THIS

Manisa Deputy Özgür Özel, who resigned from CHP and founded a party they named "New Party," had praised and introduced Tamer Mandalinci during the "Candidate Introduction Meeting" held in Manisa on February 3, 2024, while he served as CHP chairman before the court's absolute nullity decision.

However, Özel mispronounced both the first and last name of Mandalinci, whom he praised endlessly. In that speech, Özel said, "Hakan Mandalinacı" for Tamer Mandalinci.
