Bold words from Fırat Sarı: If autopsies had been performed, we wouldn't have been baby killers.

The trial of 47 defendants, including 26 who are detained, who are members and managers of the Newborn Gang, accused of providing unfair profits by referring babies to hospitals they have agreements with and causing their deaths through negligent behavior, continues with the second session being held.

During the hearing held in the conference hall of the courthouse by the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court, some of the detained and non-detained defendants and their lawyers were present.

"I SEE A SETUP"

The lawyer of the defendant doctor Rıza Keykubat, who made a defense statement during the hearing, said, "When I look at this case, I see a setup. The date my client started working is clear. It is clear which documents he signed. I am looking at the concrete documents in the file; there are duty lists. His name is not on the duty list. As if it wasn't enough that Rıza Keykubat was arrested, they also arrested his wife. My client is accused of being part of an organization, but he does not know Fırat Sarı. Keykubat has not committed the crime he is accused of. I request his release," he said.

REQUEST FOR DESTRUCTION OF AUDIO RECORDINGS

The lawyer of Sümeyye Nur Taşçı stated, "It is unknown how the tape recordings presented as evidence in the file were obtained. The audio recordings and tape recordings were obtained unlawfully. I request their destruction," he defended.

SCANDALOUS STATEMENTS FROM FIRAT SARI

The defendant and organization leader Fırat Sarı, who took the floor, said, "In my opinion, this indictment should not have been accepted. If autopsies had been performed, we would not have been labeled as baby killers. No judicial action was taken despite our requests. You closed 10 hospitals, destroyed them, and prepared an indictment. You cannot account for these actions. There are misconceptions in the indictment against us. Besides these 10 hospitals, there were also hospitals we worked with. No action was taken against any of those hospitals; the indictment was wrongly constructed. You cannot build a building with wrong floors. There is a perception about us due to the mistakes in this indictment. I do not know how this issue will be resolved," he said.

After the defense of the defendant Fırat Sarı, the hearing was adjourned until 15:30.
