Young Party Chairman Burçin Şahindur, reacting to the trustee protest staged by New Party MPs in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey by covering their eyes and mouths with black tape, mocked the action and said, 'I expect the same creativity when eggplant gets a price hike.'
At the Turkish Parliament's Plan and Budget Committee, the action of YENİ Party MPs putting black tape over their eyes and mouths to protest the appointment of a trustee to Halk TV continues to be debated in public. A reaction to the action, which has been targeted by criticism that "If you're going to defend it like this, don't defend it at all," also came from Young Party Chairman Burçin Şahindur.
