It has emerged that Afyonkarahisar Mayor Köksal, who reportedly resigned from CHP and will join AK Party on May 12, previously stated he would not leave CHP. In a broadcast he attended at that time, Köksal said, "I am a born-and-bred CHP member. They kicked me out the door and I came back through the window. I am one of the party's fixtures."
Statements made by Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal, who is known to have resigned from the CHP and will join the AK Party, in a television program she attended about 6 months ago have begun to be reshared on social media.
“I AM ONE OF THE STALWARTS OF THE PARTY”
During that period, Köksal had denied the allegations of switching parties that emerged in the broadcast she attended on TGRT.
In her statement, Burcu Köksal said, “These allegations were being raised by trolls. They were saying I would move to the Victory Party, the Good Party, or the AKP. Perhaps a certain segment does not want to accept me in the CHP. I am a CHP member from birth. They threw me out the door, and I came in through the window. I am one of the stalwarts of the party.”
“I DID NOT LEAVE MY PARTY”
Köksal also stated that despite the disputes she experienced during the election process, she did not leave the CHP.
In her statement, she said, “Even when I was told before the March 31 elections to either find another job or find another party, I did not leave my party. I continue my struggle within the party. I am not going anywhere. I will continue my struggle in the CHP. I will continue working and fighting in my party. I call the truth truth and the wrong wrong.”
CONFIRMED AK PARTY ALLEGATIONS
Burcu Köksal, who remained silent for a long time and was alleged not to answer calls from CHP officials, confirmed in her last statement to journalist Barış Yarkadaş that she would join the AK Party.
It was reported that Köksal said, “On Tuesday, at the expanded provincial chairmen's meeting, I am joining the AK Party. There is no threat or pressure behind this decision. There is also no investigation against me.”
