GOVERNOR'S COURT STATEMENT TO TRUMP
In a statement on his social media account, Governor Newsom targeted Trump and his administration, saying, "This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted. He fueled the flames and now has illegally taken control of the National Guard under federal government. This decision will not be limited to the state of California. He can do the same things in any state he wants. We will take him to court."
Newsom had previously stated that the deployment of the National Guard was an unconstitutional act.
