After being detained and later released in a drug investigation involving famous names, actor Can Yaman broke his silence in Rome. Preferring to speak to the Italian press instead of Turkish media, Yaman responded to the allegations against him with strong words.
Famous actor Can Yaman, who was detained as part of a drug operation targeting celebrities, made his first statement in Rome after being released. Yaman firmly denied the allegations against him and criticized the Turkish press.
DETAINED, RELEASED
In the new wave of the drug and prostitution investigation involving famous names, 7 people, including Can Yaman, Selen Görgüzel, Ayşe Sağlam, and Ceren Alper, were detained.
As part of the investigation, police teams conducted operations at the Bebek Hotel in Beşiktaş and some entertainment venues. Can Yaman, who was detained during a raid on a nightclub on the grounds that drugs were found on him, was released after his procedures at the police station.
"IF IT WERE TRUE, I COULDN'T HAVE RETURNED TO ITALY"
Immediately after his release, Can Yaman returned to Rome and made a statement via social media addressing the Italian press, saying:
"Dear Italian press... The Turkish press has always treated me poorly, this is not new. But please do not copy-paste the news coming from the Bosphorus. Do you think I was wandering around with drugs during a time when the police were conducting tough investigations and many celebrities were being arrested? If this were true, I wouldn't have been released so quickly and returned to Italy the next day."
ITALY EMPHASIS CAUGHT ATTENTION
Can Yaman, who moved to Italy about 5 years ago and rebuilt his career there, emphasized his commitment to Italy in his statement, using the phrase "I love you."
Yaman's preference to make his statement to the Italians instead of the Turkish public also resonated widely on social media.
