In the Safranbolu district of Karabük, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the rock known as the "stone terrace" has become the center of attention on social media following a music video shot by the famous singer Çelik, while the Karabük Governorship announced that the rock is at risk of collapse.

Recently, famous singer Çelik filmed a music video at the "stone terrace" located within the boundaries of Düzce village, connected to the Safranbolu district of Karabük.

GOVERNORATE WARNED

Following the music video, the rock, which became famous as people climbed on it to take photos and videos to share on social media, is experiencing a high volume of visitors. Due to the intense visitor traffic, the Karabük Governorate issued a warning, stating that the rock structure has a clayey-limestone gravel characteristic, thus forming a conglomerate structure.

"THERE IS A RISK OF COLLAPSE"

In a statement from the governorate, it was said, "There is a high volume of visitors at the Stone Terrace located in the Düzce village area of Safranbolu district, which falls under the responsibility of our Directorate. The 'stone terrace area' within the Sırçalı Wildlife Development Area (YHGS) has a rock structure of clayey-limestone gravel, thus forming a conglomerate structure, and the lower part of the viewpoint of the stone terrace has naturally eroded into hollows, creating a 'marl' structure. Due to ongoing erosion and wear, there is a risk of collapse, which poses a danger to human safety. Additionally, since the Sırçalı area is designated as a Wildlife Development Area, it is a site where human pressure should be minimal according to the Law on Hunting No. 4915. For these reasons, it is important not to enter the area (especially the stone terrace area)," it was stated.
