The spiny hedgehog, commonly seen in Africa and Mediterranean countries, was spotted this time in Aydın. The hedgehog, captured on a mobile phone, disappeared after a while.
In addition to African and Mediterranean countries, the Indian porcupine, which lives in India and Nepal, is rarely seen in the south of Turkey.
THIS TIME IT APPEARED IN THE AEGEAN
The porcupine, which is most commonly seen in provinces such as Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Adıyaman, Mersin, Antalya, and Muğla, was spotted this time in Aydın.
AS SOON AS HE SAW IT, HE GRABBED HIS PHONE
Süleyman Kozbek, the muhtar of the Çarşı neighborhood in the Yenipazar district, encountered the endangered porcupine while driving in the district center. Muhtar Kozbek recorded the porcupine moving in front of his vehicle with his mobile phone. The porcupine disappeared after entering some side streets for a while.
"FOLLOWING IT UNTIL A SAFE PLACE MADE ME VERY HAPPY"
Muhtar Kozbek expressed his joy at encountering the endangered porcupine, stating, "I was surprised to see a porcupine in the center of the district. I followed it for a while. Later, when it came to the gardens, the porcupine entered a garden and disappeared. At least, following it to a safe place away from vehicles made me very happy. Because it could have been harmed in the city, others might have seen it and caused harm, I couldn't remain indifferent and watched the porcupine go to a safe place," he explained.
