The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that the samples taken from the grave of Cem Garipoğlu, who committed suicide in prison in 2014 after murdering Münevver Karabulut in Istanbul 15 years ago, matched with those of his father and mother, and that this person was found to have the exact same DNA profile as the individual who was determined to have committed suicide in 2014 after an autopsy. The development has caused a significant public reaction, and the first statement came from Münevver Karabulut's father, Süreyya Karabulut. Karabulut said, "We have not yet been able to examine the content of the Forensic Medicine report because it has not yet entered the case file. My lawyer, Mr. Rezan, provided me with information regarding the statement from the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the result of the report. I requested that an objection be made to the report in the forensic medicine and that a new report be obtained from universities and forensic medicine institutes."
