Two weeks ago, Aydın Koçarlı Mayor Özgür Arıcı, who was about to switch to the AK Party but changed his mind at the last minute and returned to the CHP, which he called his "father's home," experienced a protocol crisis at a solidarity meeting he attended. After seeing that no seat was allocated to him, he waited standing for a while and became angry; despite the persuasion efforts of the members of parliament, he left the hall with his wife.
A major seat crisis that cast a shadow over the spirit of unity occurred at the 'Unity, Solidarity and Cooperation Meeting' organized by the CHP Aydın Provincial Directorate. Özgür Arıcı, the Mayor of Koçarlı, who was preparing to switch to the AK Party two weeks ago but changed his mind at the last minute saying 'I am returning to my father's home', left the hall with his wife after not finding a seat for himself in the protocol.
WAITED STANDING FOR A WHILE
Koçarlı Mayor Özgür Arıcı, who attended the meeting with his wife, saw that no seat was reserved for him in the protocol order when he entered the hall. According to claims, Arıcı, who had to wait standing for a while and was quite angered by the situation, showed his reaction to the party management. After the seat crisis in the protocol could not be resolved, Mayor Arıcı took his wife's hand and left the hall.
DEPUTY AND MAYOR COULD NOT CONVINCE HIM
As the crisis escalated, CHP Aydın Deputy Süleyman Bülbül and Nazilli Mayor Ertuğrul Tetik rushed outside the hall to try to stop Mayor Arıcı. The two figures struggled for a long time to convince Arıcı, who was heading to his car with his wife, but failed. Following the tension, Özgür Arıcı left the meeting area.

This seat crisis brought to mind the political turbulence Mayor Arıcı experienced just two weeks ago. Arıcı, who set out to join the AK Party Headquarters but turned back at the last moment saying 'I couldn't do it', had stated in a written statement: 'A person may come to a crossroads many times for reasons beyond their control. They may be forced to make various decisions to protect and look after their family without considering personal ambition. But at the end of the day, I realized that a person who gives up on everything cannot give up on their father's home and the colleagues who sweated street by street for their party. For these reasons, I know I owe a clearance to my beloved fellow citizens of Koçarlı, my hardworking colleagues, and our father's home, the Republican People's Party.'
