Deal to keep 24 year old at English club for 6 years.

Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella joined Chelsea from another English football club Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday.

"Marc Cucurella has signed for Chelsea on a six-year contract from Brighton & Hove Albion," Chelsea said in a statement.

The 24-year-old said he joined "one of the best clubs in the world" and will "work hard" during his time at Stamford Bridge.

"Marc is an elite defender of proven Premier League quality and he further strengthens our squad going into the new season," said Chelsea chair Todd Boehly.

Barcelona product Cucurella played three seasons in the Spanish La Liga as he had loan spells with Eibar and Getafe.
