Cherries, which found buyers at high prices during the Cherry Festival, have dropped to as low as 70 lira in the neighborhood market due to the abundance of the product.
CITIZENS FLOCKED TO THE TUESDAY MARKET
Cherries, which took their place on the stalls at the Tuesday market established in Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ, attracted great interest from citizens. The price of cherries, sold for 250 to 300 lira per kilogram during the Cherry Festival period, has fallen to levels between 70 and 100 lira as the harvest increased and product supply grew. Market vendors stated that this year's cherry yield is quite high and emphasized that citizens should consume plenty of cherries in season.

Market vendor Kasım Şen noted that cherries are much more abundant compared to last year, saying, "It was sold for 250-300 at the festival. Look, in the market, 100 lira. Cherries have become abundant, very abundant. Last year it was 500 lira. There were no cherries. This year God has given, thank God, let everyone eat."
It was observed that citizens showed more interest in the stalls as prices dropped, and vendors noted that they expect reasonable prices to continue throughout the season.
