After CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı called on the New Party and the DEM Party to nominate a joint candidate for the election for deputy chairmanship of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey to be held on October 15, attention turned to possible cooperation between the parties. Answering the question of whether an alliance could be formed between CHP and the New Party across Turkey, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the parties could come together on common issues and did not close the door to the possibility of cooperation.
