The criminal case filed on charges of irregularities in CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress has been adjourned to September 16.

The criminal case filed on charges of irregularities in CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, where a 'absolute nullity' decision was made, continued today. The case, in which Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is present as a 'victim' and seeks prison sentences ranging from 1 to 3 years for 12 defendants including Ekrem İmamoğlu, saw Adem Soytekin, a witness in the İBB case, testify as a 'witness' in today's hearing.

JUDGE HAD SOYTEKIN'S PAPERS TAKEN FROM HIS HAND

The witness Adem Soytekin, who joined the hearing via SEGBIS, wanted to make his defense by reading from a note paper in his hand. The judge had the bailiff in the SEGBIS room take the papers from Soytekin's hand. Soytekin claimed that in 2021, apartments were sold with payment facilities to CHP members by KİPTAŞ. The court president asked, 'Was the delegate's will influenced in exchange for the apartments?' Soytekin answered, 'Not that I know of. KİPTAŞ sent us the names, and apartments were sold to these names.'

Lawyer Çağlar Çağlayan asked the witness Soytekin, 'During the sale of properties in December 2021 – January 2022, did anyone tell you, 'We made a promise for the congress, sell to these names, we need to give these people apartments to establish internal party power'?' Soytekin replied, 'No, such a conversation did not happen.'

ABSOLUTE NULLITY DECISION WILL BE ADDED TO THE FILE

The court judge adjourned the case to September 16, 2026, at 09:00 after all statements were taken. The court requested that the reasoned absolute nullity decision of the Regional Court of Appeals be added to the file.
