CHP member Tuncay Özkan targeted Erdoğan, the chief prosecutor initiated an investigation.

CHP Izmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan made controversial remarks about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on social media. Following Özkan's remarks, an investigation was launched by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also strongly reacted to Özkan's controversial remarks.

CHP Izmir Deputy Özkan, in his post on X, said about President Erdogan, "You spoiled brat! Sit in the palace, sit on the throne, let dollars and billions be your toys, extravagance and wastefulness be your companion, are you calling us 'show-off addicts'? You have 13 planes. Luxury life is yours. Convoys full of cars are yours in the country and abroad. Being the party of the rich by making the people poor and destitute for 22 years is yours. Making fun of the poor and destitute is yours as a party member. Dollar billionaires are yours. The prisons are ours, the palaces are yours, are we the ones who are showy? Are you jealous? You spoiled brat of the palace! We want early elections. Bring it on!"

INVESTIGATION INITIATED

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç reacted to Özkan's remarks. Tunç announced that an investigation has been initiated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Özkan. Tunç stated, "Our President, is a leader who has emerged from the heart of our nation. He has dedicated his life to a great and powerful Turkey. Insulting and vulgar expressions towards our President, who was elected with the votes of our esteemed nation and works day and night to serve our country and nation, are unacceptable. I strongly condemn the disrespectful and immoral words of a person who carries the identity of a member of parliament and disregards the values of the people."

STRONG REACTION FROM AK PARTY SPOKESPERSON ÇELIK

AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Çelik strongly criticized Özkan's controversial remarks. Çelik said, "The politically unethical and ugly words of a CHP deputy towards our President are nothing more than this person reflecting on himself."

Çelik, in his post on X, said, "The person who speaks in this manner has aspired to be remembered with these attributes throughout his political life in Turkey. The fact that this CHP Deputy's ugly rhetoric towards our President is on the same wavelength as the Dutch Turkish and Islamophobic, fascist Geert Wilders is not our problem, but the problem of the CHP."

AK Party Deputy Chairman and Izmir Deputy Dağ also strongly reacted to Özkan's statement. Dağ said, "They couldn't win the election with insults, lies, and slander. They were slapped by Recep Tayyip Erdogan so hard that they were even kicked out of their glass palaces. Now they are trying to draw attention by insulting the 'Man of the People'. Keep your language to yourself, no one will give you water from here or throw you a bone."
