CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer stated that he will not join the party to be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel. Additionally, Gürer said, "However, during my time here, I will express the negatives, mistakes, and shortcomings I observe."

CHP Deputy for Niğde Ömer Fethi Gürer made evaluations on the agenda at a press conference in the Parliament. Gürer stated at the press conference in the Parliament that the political agenda in the country continues intensively, but alongside this, various social segments also have their problems.

DEMANDED A FLAT INCREASE OF 10 THOUSAND LIRA FOR RETIREES

Gürer, noting that there are approximately 17 million retirees in Turkey, argued that the increases made to retirement pensions melt away due to inflation before reaching citizens' pockets. Gürer said, "Therefore, we consistently bring up the demand for a minimum flat increase of 10 thousand lira for all retirees. Currently, retirees are struggling to live on wages below the hunger threshold."

Gürer claimed that today, most of a retirement pension does not even cover rent in a metropolis, and therefore retirees are also exhausting their savings.

WILL STAY IN CHP

In response to a question about whether he would join the new party to be established under the leadership of CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel, Gürer gave the following answer:

"Mustafa Kemal Atatürk left two legacies: one is the Republic, and the other is the Republican People's Party. I will continue to stay in Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's party. However, during my time here, I will also express the negatives, mistakes, and shortcomings I observe. My fundamental philosophy will be to bring the problems of social segments to the Parliament's agenda and to deal with these issues throughout my tenure as a deputy."
