Coal assistance will be provided to households in need.

According to the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the total amount of coal to be distributed in each province and district will be determined by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, taking into account the climate conditions of the region, the number of needy people benefiting from the aid identified on a provincial/district basis, and the distribution amounts from previous years.

TO BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO NEED CRITERIA

The households benefiting from the aid will be determined by the foundations located in the provinces and districts according to the need criteria specified in the law and will be finalized after evaluation by the Ministry. The coal delivered cannot be subject to any savings other than meeting the heating needs of the relevant household.

Within the scope of this decision, the coal shipments to be made to the foundations and the households determined by the foundations will be carried out in accordance with the shipment program organized based on the criteria to be determined by the Ministry, taking into account the opinions of the General Directorates of the Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKİ) and the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprises (TTK).

FOUNDATIONS WILL UNDERTAKE THE DISTRIBUTION ORGANIZATION

A protocol may be made between the Ministry or TKİ and TTK and TCDD Transportation Inc. regarding the transportation of the coal procured through TKİ and TTK and prioritizing this matter. The distribution organization within the province and district to the needy households determined by the foundations will also be carried out by the foundations. The procedures and principles regarding the implementation of the decision will be determined by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, taking into account the opinions of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
