The suspect Nevzat B, who confessed to hiding the lifeless body of 8-year-old Narin Güran in the creek in Diyarbakır, claimed in his statement to the peace criminal judge that his uncle Salim Güran, who was arrested on September 2, threatened him by saying, "I killed Arif's daughter, you will also take this body and destroy it. Otherwise, I will kill you and your family." STATEMENT OF THE ARRESTED CONFESSOR REVEALEDThe investigation into the death of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe Neighborhood of Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in Eğertutmaz Creek on September 8, continues by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In his statement to the peace criminal judge, the confessing suspect Nevzat B. (48), who was arrested on charges of "participating in the intentional murder of a child," claimed that he was threatened with death by his uncle Salim Güran. "HE THREATENED TO KILL MY FAMILY IF I DIDN'T GET RID OF THE BODY"Nevzat B explained the incident as follows: "I remember putting a stone on top of Narin's body when I left it by the edge of the creek. I placed the sack containing the body under the natural rock by the water and put a stone on top of it. It was not noticeable that there was something there from the outside. The statement 'I killed Arif's daughter, you will also take this body and destroy it. Otherwise, I will kill you and your family,' which I mentioned in my statement to the prosecutor, is true. I didn't mention this situation before because I was afraid of Salim Güran." "I PLACED NARIN'S BODY IN A SACK AT MY RESIDENCE"The suspect, who stated that they placed Narin's body in his own vehicle together with village headman Salim Güran on the day of the incident, used the expression "I placed Narin's body in the sack by myself at my residence." Nevzat B stated that he noticed Salim Güran's uneasiness during the search for Narin and said the following in his statement: "I don't remember seeing such uneasiness in anyone else. During the search activities, Salim and the gendarmerie personnel with him came to look at the old well in my mother's courtyard." "I DELETED MY SEARCH RECORDS MYSELF"After burying Narin's body, I came face to face with Salim for the first time here. Since he was a gendarmerie personnel, he didn't ask me anything. Apart from that, none of Narin's relatives asked me anything about Narin's body. I had previously deleted my search records because they were increasing. I also deleted my records related to the day of the incident myself. No one had any influence or advice in this regard. I regret this situation." In the decision of the duty peace criminal judge, it was stated that Nevzat B confessed to putting Narin Güran's body in a sack and burying it by the creek, which was delivered to him by the other suspect Salim Güran, and that "he tried to protect some suspects by leaving some questions unanswered or vague, and his statements contained some contradictions." The decision stated the following: "Considering that the investigation is not yet completed and when the entire file is evaluated together, there are valid reasons to suspect the crime as required by Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights, strong evidence indicating a strong suspicion of crime as stipulated in Article 19 of the Constitution, the upper and lower limits of the punishment prescribed by law for the alleged crime, which consists of catalog crimes specified in Article 100/3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the strong possibility of the suspect's escape considering the expected sentence, the proportionality of the arrest measure, and the insufficiency of judicial control at this stage, it is decided to arrest the suspect in accordance with Articles 100 and subsequent articles of the Code of Criminal Procedure." The investigation is ongoing for the 23 suspects, including Salim Güran and Nevzat B, who were arrested. CONFESSOR CAUGHT ON CAMERA FOOTAGEIn the investigation into the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in the bed of Eğertutmaz Creek 19 days after she went missing in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, new details continue to emerge. The gendarmerie teams, who deepened the investigation after the discovery of Narin's body, started to re-examine the security camera footage of Eğertutmaz Creek and the area. Especially the camera recordings of the day Narin went missing helped the gendarmerie reach an important detail. In the footage, it was determined that a vehicle parked near the creek where Narin's body was found remained stationary in the field for 50 minutes between 15:40 and 16:30. CONFESSOR ADMITTED HIS CRIME DURING CROSS-EXAMINATIONThe owner of the suspicious vehicle, who made important confessions about Salim Güran, was determined to be Nevzat Bahtiyar. Bahtiyar, who was taken into custody, revealed chilling details during cross-examination. Bahtiyar stated that the lifeless body of the little girl was delivered to him by his uncle Salim Duran, who offered him money to get rid of the body, and said, "I accepted his offer and after driving the body in the vehicle for a while, I left it in the bed of the creek, hiding it with a sack and stones on top." FAMILY MEMBERS UNDER ARRESTAfter Bahtiyar's statement, the gendarmerie teams detained all family members, considering the possibility that Narin may have been a victim of domestic murder. Narin's father, however, was later released. WHAT HAPPENED?On August 21, when Narin Güran, who went to the Quran course in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district, did not return home, her family searched for her on their own. When no results were obtained from the search, Narin's father, Arif Güran, reported that his daughter was missing on the same day around 20:00. As a result, numerous search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village. While the search operations were ongoing, Narin Güran's brother E. G. (18) was detained due to bite marks on his arm. After the examination at Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute, when it could not be determined whether the bite marks belonged to Narin, E. G. was released. Then Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar (village head) of rural Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his car matched the DNA samples on Narin's clothes, was arrested for "intentional killing" and "deprivation of liberty". The teams, who previously focused on the searched areas again, conducted a search in Eğertutmaz Stream, located 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood, and found Narin's lifeless body on the 19th day. It was determined that Narin was killed and then thrown into the stream in a sack, and her body was covered with stones. .
