Haluk Görgün, the President of the Defense Industry, announced that a contract worth 2.6 billion Euros for the export of 30 units of Turkey's first national jet training aircraft, HÜRJET, has been signed with Spain.
In a social media post, Görgün emphasized that HÜRJET's selection by the Spanish Air and Space Forces is a historic achievement for Turkey's defense industry. Deliveries are planned to begin in 2028.

Görgün stated that the HÜRJET export package includes an integrated training architecture covering advanced combat pilot training, simulation and training systems, as well as maintenance and support infrastructure. He mentioned that the entry of the jet training aircraft, designed and produced with national capabilities, into the inventory of a European and NATO member country is an indicator of the design and production competence in the defense industry.
DELIVERIES WILL START IN 2026, FLEET WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2028
In a statement made by TUSAŞ, it was reported that the final contract was signed as a result of negotiations conducted in partnership with the Spanish Ministry of Defense and Airbus for HÜRJET. The production of a total of 30 HÜRJETs will take place at TUSAŞ facilities, and deliveries will begin in the last quarter of 2028 and continue until 2036. With this export, the original products of Turkish engineers and technicians will be opened to the European market for the first time.
TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu also stated that HÜRJET's selection within Spain's Integrated Advanced Flight Training System demonstrates the progress our defense industry has made, and he thanked all teams and stakeholders involved.
