American rapper Kanye West made headlines with his response to a question directed at him. When asked about his thoughts on Palestinians, West equated the genocide happening in Gaza with the violence occurring in his own city. West said, "Don't pull me into that conversation. 14 children die every week in my city. Talk to me about this issue."
American rapper Kanye West drew attention with his response to a question posed while he was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) terminal. When asked about his thoughts on Palestinians, West stated that he did not have enough information on the subject and shifted the discussion to the violence occurring in his own city.
"DON'T PULL ME INTO THAT CONVERSATION"
West responded to a reporter's question, "What are your thoughts on Palestinians?" with the following:
"I don't have enough information on this. I will be honest, I am from South Chicago, I was born in Atlanta. I don't have enough information on this. There is love for everyone, but don't pull me into that conversation. 14 children die in my city every week. Talk to me about this topic."
While West's expression "don't pull me into that conversation" drew attention, his comparison of the genocide that Israel is carrying out in Gaza with the violence in Chicago received backlash.
HE HAS HAD POLITICAL OUTBURSTS BEFORE
Kanye West has frequently made headlines in the past with his political and social statements. The famous rapper had his deals with brands canceled due to his anti-Semitic messages, for which he later apologized.
