Israel announced this morning that it has launched an operation it describes as a "preventive strike" against Iran. During the operation, numerous explosions were heard in Iran's capital, Tehran. Iran responded to the attacks with intense missile fire. The Tel Aviv administration confirmed missile attacks from Iran targeting Israel.
TRUMP: LARGE-SCALE COMBAT
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that his country has initiated a preventive operation against Iran. U.S. President Donald Trump also stated in his announcement, "A short time ago, the U.S. began large-scale combat operations in Iran."
IRAN: THE END WILL NOT BE IN YOUR HANDS
The first official statement from Iran came from Ibrahim Azizi, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Council. Azizi stated that they would respond to the attacks, saying, "We warned you before, you started it, but the end will not be in your hands."
RETALIATION HAS BEGUN
Minutes after this statement, the Tehran administration took action for retaliation. A heavy missile attack from Iran towards Israel began. The Israeli army also confirmed these attacks.
THE FIRST TARGET OF THE U.S. AND ISRAEL IS IRAN'S MISSILE CAPACITY
The operational plan of the U.S. and Israel is clear... According to the plan presented to President Trump, the distribution of tasks in a possible military scenario is clearly defined. Under the plan, Israel will direct a large portion of its operational efforts towards Iran's missile capacity. In this context, missile storage areas, production facilities, and launch pads will be among the primary targets. U.S. military forces will focus on critical infrastructure elements related to Iran's nuclear program and military and strategic targets affiliated with the government, particularly the Revolutionary Guards. The plan is believed to aim to simultaneously pressure both Iran's ballistic capacity and its nuclear program.
