US President Donald Trump made striking statements regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Lebanon policies at the G-7 Summit in France. Arguing that Israel used excessive force in its operations against Hezbollah, Trump reacted to the destruction in Beirut, saying, "I feel sorry for Lebanon."

Speaking at the G7 Summit in France, US President Donald Trump criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's military moves against Lebanon for the first time in such clear terms. Admitting that he had a "disagreement" with Netanyahu over Lebanon, Trump said, "You can't demolish an entire building for every Hezbollah member," challenging Tel Aviv.

"BIBI IS A GOOD PARTNER BUT SOMETIMES GETS TOO EXCITED"

During a press conference as he left the G7 Summit, US President Trump addressed the hot developments in the Middle East and used striking remarks while assessing his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump revealed the diplomatic rift between them by saying, "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sometimes gets excited, but he is a good partner. However, we have a small disagreement over Lebanon."

"NO NEED TO DESTROY BEIRUT BECAUSE TWO DRONES FELL INTO THE DESERT"

Trump harshly criticized the Israeli military's heavy bombing strategy targeting civilian settlements and buildings in Lebanon. Not hiding his discomfort with the scale of Israel's operations, the US President took aim at the Netanyahu government with these words:

"You don't need to demolish a building every time someone from Hezbollah enters it. Israel could have handled Hezbollah better. When two drones were shot down and fell harmlessly into the desert, there was no need to demolish buildings in Beirut."

"I FEEL SORRY FOR LEBANON"

Trump stated that the destruction in Lebanon troubled him and argued that Israel was taking wrong steps in this regard.

Trump continued his criticism of the Israeli government by saying, "(Netanyahu) They are doing a bad job on Lebanon, and I feel sorry for Lebanon."
