In a post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated, "In our operations 'GÜRZ-41' and 'GÜRZ-42', which have been ongoing for the last week by our Police and Gendarmerie against the ISIS terrorist organization in 24 provinces, 100 suspected members of the terrorist organization have been captured. With our strategy of 'eradicating terrorism at its source' against all terrorist elements; we continue our fight resolutely with our Police, Gendarmerie, and Intelligence units."
A LARGE NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONAL DOCUMENTS AND MATERIALS SEIZED
Providing information about the operations conducted in 24 provinces, Minister Yerlikaya included the following statements in his post: "In coordination with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, the General Directorate of Security's Counter-Terrorism Department, the Intelligence Department, and the Gendarmerie General Command's Counter-Terrorism Department, operations were carried out by Provincial Police Departments and Provincial Gendarmerie Commands in Ankara, Antalya, Çankırı, Çorum, Düzce, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Kocaeli, Kırşehir, Mersin, Nevşehir, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Yalova, Amasya, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Elazığ, and Malatya. It was determined that the suspects captured in these operations were active within the ISIS terrorist organization, provided financing to the terrorist organization, and conducted propaganda for ISIS through their social media accounts. As a result of the operations, organizational documents and digital materials were seized.
