Vasco da Gama, one of the Brazilian League teams, has officially confirmed that negotiations are being held with Galatasaray over Carlos Cuesta's future. The Brazilian club is not expected to exercise the purchase option for the Colombian defender.
The future of Colombian center-back Carlos Cuesta, who is on loan from Süper Lig giant Galatasaray to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, is becoming clear. The Brazilian club confirmed that official contacts with the yellow-and-red management regarding the experienced defender's situation have begun.
INJURY SITUATION ON THE TABLE
The main agenda item of the talks is the physical condition and contract terms of the 27-year-old footballer, who has been experiencing pain due to a compression syndrome in his left hip for about a month.
PURCHASE OPTION MAY NOT BE USED
Although Cuesta's loan agreement includes a purchase option worth 5.75 million Euros, it has been learned that Vasco da Gama does not plan to use this clause. The Colombian center-back, who was also left out of the squad for the critical Flamengo derby in the 33rd week of the Brazilian League due to his injury, is expected to remain with the team until the end of the year, and a final decision is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
