In a verdict delivered at the third hearing of the trial opened against 33 defendants over allegations of sexual abuse of 13-year-old G.Ö. in the Amasra district of Bartın, the court sentenced some defendants to prison terms ranging from 10 to 30 years, acquitted 9 defendants, and ordered the continued detention of 16 defendants.
33 DEFENDANTS BROUGHT BEFORE THE JUDGE
Following a report filed with the Amasra Police Department on April 18, an investigation was launched, and charges were brought against 33 individuals over the allegations concerning 13-year-old G.Ö.
In the trial held at Bartın 2nd Heavy Penal Court, the defendants faced charges of "aggravated sexual abuse of a child," "sexual abuse," and "deprivation of liberty."
Extensive security measures were taken around the courthouse before the third hearing held today. The closed hearing was attended by 33 defendants, 25 of whom were detained, along with lawyers from both sides.
SOME DEFENDANTS SENTENCED TO UP TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON
The court panel sentenced detained defendant A.R.Ç. to 22 years and 6 months in prison for "aggravated sexual abuse" and 7 years and 6 months for "deprivation of liberty."
Y.E.E., O.B., A.S., M.C.A., and S.E.A. were each sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison for "aggravated sexual abuse."
A.A.A., B.E.T., Y.E.A., B.A., A.K., M.Ç., B.E.B., and S.A. were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 13 years and 4 months to 16 years and 8 months for the same crime.
THEY RECEIVED 10-YEAR PRISON SENTENCES
The court sentenced V.B.Ç. to 13 years and 4 months in prison for "aggravated sexual abuse" and ordered the defendant's arrest. The panel also ruled to file a criminal complaint regarding the crimes of "using children in the production of obscene publications" and "obscenity."
Juvenile detained defendants T.H. and C.A. were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for "aggravated sexual abuse."
It was decided to release B.N.G., N.H.T., Ş.M., and U.K., who were sentenced to prison.
9 DEFENDANTS ACQUITTED
The court panel decided to postpone the announcement of the verdict for C.T., E.K., F.D., Y.A., H.A., and Y.E.K., who were convicted of "sexual harassment" and "abuse remaining at the level of molestation."
The court acquitted 9 defendants in the case and concluded the hearing by ordering the continued detention of 16 defendants.
