The funeral was held at Değirmendere Central Mosque in Kocaeli's Gölcük district, following the afternoon prayer, and he was buried at Değirmendere 17 August Cemetery. Kılıç, a father of three, was not left alone on his final journey by his family, relatives, and loved ones. Demet Akalın was accompanied by her husband Okan Kurt.
