'Desert monitor' seen for the second time in Şırnak

The desert monitor lizard was seen once again in the Silopi district of Şırnak. This animal, typically found in desert regions of Africa and the Middle East and very rarely seen in Turkey, was released into its natural habitat after treatment.

The desert monitor lizard, seen for the second time in Silopi district of Şırnak, was caught upon citizens' notification, treated, and then released into its natural habitat.

TREATED AND RELEASED INTO NATURAL HABITAT

Citizens who saw the desert monitor lizard in a house in Silopi district, Cumhuriyet Neighborhood, reported the situation to Silopi Municipality teams. The animal caught by the teams was handed over to the Silopi Municipality Health Affairs Directorate.

The desert monitor lizard, whose health check and necessary treatment were carried out by Health Affairs Director Emin Güler, was released into its natural habitat.
