An interesting event occurred in America. Pregnant news anchor Olivia Jaquith insisted on going on air despite experiencing labor pains before the live broadcast.
Jaquith, who works for CBS affiliate WRGB, realized her water had broken while preparing to present the morning news program. However, instead of going to the hospital, she decided to sit at the desk and present the news.
Her colleague Julia Dunn explained the situation live on air: "We really have breaking news this morning. Olivia's water has broken, and she is now presenting the news while in labor."
Jaquith calmly stated, "It's still early contractions; I had a cramp a few minutes ago, but I'm fine now. I will stay here as long as I can."
On the screen, a message appeared indicating that Jaquith was two days past her estimated due date.
Off the air, Dunn shared the incident on Facebook, exclaiming, "This is not an April Fool's joke. Olivia's water really broke in the newsroom."
Turning to the camera, Jaquith laughed and said, "This is my first pregnancy, and I don't know what to do. I started having cramps while working yesterday, but I didn't think much of it. This morning, when I got up to go to the bathroom, I realized my water had broken."
Although her colleagues tried to convince her to go to the hospital, Jaquith preferred to continue working. The channel's management stated, "Olivia's passion for storytelling and her commitment to our viewers has always been evident. We are excited to welcome our tiniest new member."
Jaquith, who is expecting a baby boy with her husband Tyn, announced her pregnancy after running a Disney half marathon with her sister in February.
This event has gone down in history as one of the most interesting live broadcast moments in television history.
