Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç explained why he became a candidate despite his statement "They won't make Fenerbahçe champions while I'm here." Koç said, "This is definitely not a statement of hopelessness and surrender. On the contrary, these words are an expression of rebellion, a fight. It was a message to those who want to design football in Turkey as they wish. Another reason for me to run as a candidate again is to continue our fight against the system that has made injustice and unfairness the norm."

In the elections at Fenerbahçe, President Ali Koç, who is running for re-election, held a press conference at the Faruk Ilgaz Facilities regarding the candidacy process. President Koç clarified the statement 'They won't make Fenerbahçe champions as long as Ali Koç is there', which has been a long-standing issue in Turkish football.

Ali Koç's statements are as follows:

"Those words were a message to those trying to manipulate football."

"I have two words for those who prepared the election strategy behind the statement 'They won't make Fenerbahçe champions as long as Ali Koç is there'. This is one of the reasons why I decided to run for candidacy. I used these expressions in two television programs. This is definitely not a statement of despair and surrender. On the contrary, these words are an expression of rebellion, a manifestation of a struggle. It was a message to those who want to design football in Turkey as they wish. Fenerbahçe has been systematically subjected to intense attacks and continues to be."

"We have started a struggle and we are determined to take it to the end."

"Since we took over the management, we have started working to solve the structural problem of football. However, we realized that such an environment does not exist. Despite our well-intentioned approach, we have always been marginalized. Our goal is not only to improve Fenerbahçe, but also to improve Turkish football with our clubs that are uncomfortable with this system. We have started a struggle and we are determined to take it to the end. Another reason for me to run for candidacy again is to take our fight against the system that has made injustice and unfairness the norm to the end. If we resist, we will eventually establish a fair and clean environment in football. We will achieve this sooner or later."
