As SAHA EXPO 2026 International Defense, Aviation and Space Industry Fair opened its doors to millions of visitors, the post made by AK Party Kırşehir MP Necmettin Erkan after his visit to the fair drew attention. The shared photos sparked a debate on social media: 'Is it real or a product of artificial intelligence?'
In his post on his social media account, MP Erkan emphasized Turkey's domestic and national technology move, stating, 'Under the strong leadership and vision of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we are advancing confidently towards our domestic and national technology goals.' However, more than the message in the post, the four photos added attracted attention.
"DID HE FIND TELEPORTATION?" COMMENTS
In the photos, which appear to be taken against different backgrounds, Erkan's maintaining the same posture and almost identical facial expression in each frame brought up claims that the images were digitally produced. On social media, comments such as 'Did he find teleportation?' were made.
DETAILS IN THE VISUALS RAISED SUSPICION
Noticeable smoothing effects on facial features in the photos, loss of clarity in hand and shoe areas, and light-shadow inconsistencies led to interpretations that the visuals might have been created with AI intervention. Perspective errors seen in the transitions between the background and the person also drew attention, bringing about assessments of 'digital fabrication at a technology fair.'
