The Disinformation Combat Center issued a statement regarding reports in some media outlets claiming that "Turkey's trade with Israel continues," stating, "Turkey has completely halted all export, import, and transit trade transactions related to Israel for all products as of May 2, 2024."
The Presidency of Communications of Turkey's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) made a statement regarding claims published in some media outlets and shared on social media, stating that "Turkey's trade with Israel continues" and "exports worth 2.8 billion dollars were made from Turkey to Israel in 2024."
THE DATE OF MAY 2, 2024, HAS BEEN UNDERLINED
The statement emphasized that Turkey has completely halted all export, import, and transit trade operations related to Israel for all products as of May 2, 2024.
"THE CUSTOMS SYSTEM FOR ISRAEL IS CLOSED"
The DMM's statement included the following: "The claims published in some media outlets, stating that 'Turkey's trade with Israel continues' and 'exports worth 2.8 billion dollars were made from Turkey to Israel in 2024' are not true. Turkey has completely halted all export, import, and transit trade operations related to Israel for all products as of May 2, 2024. No trade operations with Israel are being conducted at our customs and free zones. After May 2, 2024, there are no registered customs declarations for exports and imports to and from Israel, nor are there any shipments arriving from Israel to our country. The customs system for Israel is closed.
"THE TOTAL EXPORT TO ISRAEL BEFORE 2024 IS 1 BILLION 522 MILLION DOLLARS"
The claim shared in the news regarding an export of 2.8 billion dollars in 2024 does not reflect the truth, as the total export to Israel before May 2, 2024, is 1 billion 522 million dollars. This figure also includes exports to Palestine. Please do not trust manipulative shares aimed at misleading the public."
