In an operation conducted in 5 districts of Istanbul, 98 kilograms 500 grams of skunk, part of which was hidden in a dishwasher, and 1 kilogram of cocaine were seized. While 2 caught suspects were arrested, during ongoing work a handmade explosive was found in the home of 1 suspect who had been taken into custody. In a separate operation conducted in Kağıthane, 568 kilograms 300 grams of pregabalin were seized, and 2 suspects were taken into custody.
Hundreds of kilograms of drugs were seized in operations targeting drug trafficking in Istanbul. It was determined that the drugs were attempted to be delivered disguised as food couriers.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 5 DISTRICTS
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate conducted operations at 5 addresses and on 3 vehicles in Esenyurt, Silivri, Ataşehir, Başakşehir and Avcılar as part of efforts to prevent drug trafficking. Two suspects were detained in the operation.
HIDDEN IN A DISHWASHER
During searches, 98 kilograms 500 grams of skunk, part of which was hidden in a dishwasher, and 1 kilogram of cocaine were seized. Three precision scales and 1 hand grenade were also seized at the addresses. The two suspects who were detained were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
EXPLOSIVE SUSPENDED IN ELEVATOR SHAFT
The teams conducted simultaneous operations at identified addresses in Esenyurt and Avcılar and detained 1 wanted suspect. During a search of the suspect's home, a handmade explosive and 29 rounds of 7.62-millimeter ammunition were seized. It was determined that the handmade explosive was tied to a rope and suspended in the building's elevator shaft, and that it was attempted to be hidden in this way.
DELIVERY DISGUISED AS A FOOD COURIER
In the examinations, it was determined that the drugs were transported in closed boxes and that they were attempted to be delivered to buyers by posing as food delivery couriers.
568 KILOGRAMS OF PREGABALIN IN KAĞITHANE
The teams also conducted an operation at an address in Kağıthane assessed to be used as a warehouse by different suspects. Two suspects were detained in the operation. During a search at the address, 568 kilograms 300 grams of pregabalin, used as a raw material in the production of synthetic pills, were seized.
