ANKARA RESIDENTS' WATER PROBLEM CONTINUES
In the districts affected by the water cuts across the city, such as Mamak and Altındağ, citizens are trying to meet their water needs from the spring water fountain located in Mamak's Dostlar Neighborhood. Those waiting in line with containers to take water home are forming long queues at the fountain.
"WE FILL AND TAKE WITH CONTAINERS"
Mustafa Sipahi, one of the citizens who came to obtain water from the fountain in the Battalgazi Neighborhood of Altındağ, stated that they have been experiencing constant water cuts during the day lately, saying, "Our water is cut off around 12:00-13:00 and comes back around 19:00-20:00. We fill and take with containers. Bathing, laundry, dishes... all of these are a problem. We come to get water every 3-4 days. Previously, we used to receive messages, but now the water is cut off without any notice." he said.
"MY CHILDREN CANNOT TAKE A BATH"
Ahmet Yüce, who came to fill water from the Keçiören district, also said, "The water is cut off around 09:00-10:00 in the morning and comes back around 04:00-05:00 at night. My children go to work, they cannot take a bath. We are in trouble. First, it was said that there was a repair in 'Kesikköprü'. We said 'Okay', that was finished, now they say there is something in 'Kurtboğazı', previously it was said 'our water is low, we are giving it in a trickle', now it is said 'there is a repair'. Does this repair ever end? My newly bought washing machine broke down, is the municipality going to pay for this?" he expressed.
"MUD IS FLOWING FROM OUR WATER"
Fatma Yamaç, a resident of Mamak, who described the problems they faced at home due to the cuts, said, "Mud is flowing from our water, we cannot put it in tea or food, we are waiting in line here. We fill two containers and go home." she stated.
