Syria has launched a full-scale operation against the YPG, which has been frequently attacking civilians and military positions in recent days. It is reported that after the expiration of the deadline given by the army to the terrorist organization, some areas of Aleppo have been bombed and intense clashes have occurred.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the army has launched a limited military operation against the attacks of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in Aleppo.
CURFEW DECLARED
A curfew has been declared in two neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo controlled by the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.
INTENSE CLASHES OCCURRING
According to local sources, intense clashes are taking place between security forces and armed groups in the mentioned neighborhoods.
OPERATION AGAINST YPG HAS BEGUN
The Syrian army announced that it has launched a comprehensive military and security operation in Aleppo. In a statement made by the Syrian army, it was noted that operations would continue to be expanded with the aim of making Aleppo completely secure. The statement emphasized that the main objective of the operations is to neutralize armed groups in the city and to restore public order.
A Syrian military source, in his assessment of the ongoing operations, stated, "Our military operations in Aleppo will be conducted in accordance with international law. While targeting armed groups, we are also focused on evacuating civilians from the area."
SYRIAN ARMY: YPG POSITIONS ARE LEGITIMATE TARGETS
The Syrian army announced that all positions in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods of Aleppo belonging to the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which uses the name SDF in the country, are legitimate targets.
In a report based on sources from the Army Operations Command of the Syrian official agency SANA, it was stated that the positions were declared legitimate targets due to the organization's numerous massacres against the neighborhoods and civilians of Aleppo.
The Syrian Operations Command also called on the civilian population living in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods to stay away from the positions belonging to PKK/YPG and announced that two safe humanitarian passage corridors have been opened in the area to prevent harm to the public.
CLASHES IN ALEPPO
In the PKK/YPG attacks that began in the city center of Aleppo on January 6, 1 soldier and 5 civilians were killed, and 31 people were injured.
The Syrian army had also sent reinforcements of dozens of tanks and armored personnel carriers to the contact lines with PKK/YPG.
Due to the clashes, operations in official institutions in the city center were halted, and education in schools and universities was suspended.
Flights at Aleppo International Airport were also suspended.
On the same day, the terrorist organization PKK/YPG carried out an attack on a school and a hospital in the Suryan neighborhood in the evening hours.
