Dursun Özbek harshly criticized the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) through the referee Yasin Kol of the Fenerbahçe derby. Özbek stated, "Regardless of who the referee favors, a penalty should have been imposed," and argued that the federation applies double standards, creating a stir with his remark, "Why didn't you penalize Yasin Kol?"
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made striking statements regarding the referee discussions that arose after the derby played against Fenerbahçe during a press conference he held. Özbek targeted the Turkish Football Federation through the referee of the match, Yasin Kol.
"WE DO NOT MAKE TEAM DISTINCTIONS"
Referring to the meeting held at the TFF, Dursun Özbek stated that the positions were watched with video during the meeting with the federation president. Özbek said, "We do not make team distinctions while asking for justice from you. Whether it is Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, or Beşiktaş... If there is injustice on the field, there should be a penalty for it. Can there be an understanding like 'We were going to give a penalty, but you came and we gave up'?"
"THOSE CAUSING INJUSTICE SHOULD BE PUNISHED"
Özbek claimed that different statements were made to them during the meeting and different ones in public, saying, "Nothing was said to us while watching the positions. When it comes to the microphone, it is said that 'Fenerbahçe's rights were violated.' Regardless of which team's rights were violated, the person responsible for this should have been punished," he said.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU PUNISH YASIN KOL?"
In response to the question from the press members, "Should Yasin Kol officiate in Galatasaray matches again?" Özbek stated that they made an 8-minute presentation at the TFF meeting and said:
"In the meeting, there was no expression like 'Fenerbahçe's rights were violated.' We evaluated the positions. Later, in the press conference held, it is said that 'Fenerbahçe's rights were violated.' If you think this way, then why didn't you punish him?"

Emphasizing that Yasin Kol should be evaluated not individually but institutionally, Özbek concluded his statements with the words, "The addressee of Yasin Kol is TFF. If you are holding the scales of justice, you must go through these decisions."
