Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek announced that he called Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım to congratulate him. Özbek stated that the two clubs will act together, especially on increasing broadcast revenues, and that Aziz Yıldırım is receptive to this idea.
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made striking statements about Aziz Yıldırım, who was re-elected as president of Fenerbahçe, in an interview with Fotomaç.
Stating that he called Aziz Yıldırım after the election, Özbek said, "I called him on the phone and congratulated him. He was very pleased. We had a nice conversation."
"WE ARE THE TWO LOCOMOTIVE CLUBS OF TURKISH FOOTBALL"
Emphasizing that the two clubs have common interests as well as rivalry, Özbek gave a message of cooperation. The Galatasaray President stated, "We are the two great locomotive clubs of Turkish football. Therefore, we have to act together in some matters and form a power union in others."
JOINT ACTION FOR BROADCAST REVENUES
Özbek also drew attention to the upcoming broadcast tender in the next period. Saying, "During President Aziz's tenure, when he was the President of the Clubs Union, broadcast revenue was $500 million. Now it is around $170 million," Özbek stated that Turkish football needs to return to its previous economic levels.

Dursun Özbek stated that he and Aziz Yıldırım think similarly on increasing broadcast revenues. Özbek said, "There are areas where we have common interests. Mr. Aziz is also open to it. We will act together on broadcast issues. We want broadcast revenues to reach their old figures again."
