The city of Basra, known as the heart of Iraq's oil reserves, was shaken by a massive explosion at midnight. The incident occurred at a US-based oil facility in the city, with enormous flames painting the sky red.

A large explosion occurred at a facility belonging to a U.S.-based oil company in Basra, the energy hub in southern Iraq, followed by a widespread fire.
