The singer Edis made his first statement regarding the positive test result. Expressing his feelings about the result, Edis announced that he would request a retest and would undergo testing again in an independent setting.
It was claimed that Edis Görgülü, a singer who was detained and released under judicial control as part of a drug investigation conducted against celebrities by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, tested positive. Following the developments regarding him, Edis made a written statement on his social media account.
“I AM EXTREMELY SURPRISED”
While it was alleged that cocaine was found in the samples taken from Edis as part of the investigation, the famous singer stated that he was surprised by the result. In his statement, Edis expressed that he returned to Turkey from abroad to take the test as soon as his name was associated with such a matter. The singer emphasized that he is confident about his lifestyle and habits and said he would appeal the results.
"I WILL HAVE A TEST DONE AT A DIFFERENT INSTITUTION"
Edis used the following expressions in his statement on social media:
"As soon as my name was associated with such a matter, I returned from abroad quickly to take my test because I was extremely sure of my life and habits. I am extremely surprised by the result.
I believe that the T.C. Forensic Medicine Institution will not make a special application for me in this regard. However, since I clearly know my life and habits, I think there may be a mistake. For this reason, I will request that the tests be re-examined and repeated. Additionally, I will contribute to the process with comprehensive tests conducted at different and independent institutions and will share the results obtained with the relevant authorities.
"MY TRUST IN THE LAW IS COMPLETE"
My trust in the law is complete. I believe that the best way to address questions like "why" and "how" is to present them before the court with correct grounds rather than discussing them in public. I will also follow the process through legal means with this understanding. I will seek my rights. If there were a contrary situation, I would openly accept it and take responsibility for it. I believe that the truth will come out. I thank everyone who contributed to this process."
